Why another Jukebox program?
JukeANator has been in development/refinement since late 1999, so not only has it
been around longer than most other jukebox programs, it has matured to the point where
it makes an
excellent
choice for interacting with your digital music whether you
are a casual home user, a professional DJ or a bar owner/amusement operator looking to
build an
inexpensivecommercial digital jukebox. You can consolidate all of your
digital music that you have accumulated from ripping your own and buying from the various
online stores.

What
's the File Naming and Folder Structure My Music Needs to be In?
JukeANator works best when the song files are named like:

where
xx
is the track number. You also need to have the CD
's
cover art as a 250x250 pixel JPEG named
"cover.jpg"
. The CD needs to be put into a folder
named after the CD Title, which is in a folder named after the Artist, which is in a folder
named after the Genre, which is off of the root of your music hard drive. See the
HowTo
section for more details.

How Can I Convert My Personal Audio CDs to MP3 Format?
You have two choices:
- You can convert your personal audio CDs yourself using a "ripper" program such as the freeware Exact Audio Copy A pre-configued EAC can be downloaded here (if so please unzip this to C:\).
For step-by-step instructions on how to rip CDs, see CD Ripping Instructions.
- You can use a third-party ripping service to convert them for you. See http://reviews.digitaltrends.com/guide44.html for a review of CD ripping services.
Either way, it is recommended to use the %A-%N-%T naming convention (A=CD or track artist, N=track number and A=track title) with a minimum bitrate of 192 bBit/s
In addition, it is recommended that you use MP3Gain, to normalize the sound volume to a uniform level. You can download MP3Gain from http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/mp3gain/mp3gain-win-full-1_2_5.exe?download.

Where Can I Find CD Cover Art Online?
You can find the cover art for your CDs online in most places that you can buy music online.
But
Amazon.com
has good cover art that you
can resize down to the 250x250 size that JukeANator needs for optimal image quality. If
you don
't want to resize the cover art, JukeANator can do it for you, but the quality
will not be as good and the CD Panel will take slightly longer to load.

I
'm a DJ, What Makes JukeANator So Special?
In short, the navigation, selection, genre grouping and popularity listing features of
the main user interface allow for quick addition of songs to the song queue. But, the
real power of
for DJ use is in the Admin Screen, where the dynamic, multi-level priority song queue
allows you to:
-
Easily add/remove songs to/from the queue
-
Pause, reject or move the play position using a slider
-
Load playlists of songs to the queue
-
Save the contents of the queue a playlist
-
Save all played songs, in the order with which they are played, as a playlist
-
Randomize the contents of the playlist
-
Move individual or groups of songs up or down in the song queue
-
Move individual or groups of songs to the top or bottom of the song queue
-
Interlace a group of selected songs (e.g. Movie soundclips) between regular length songs
-
Increase/decrease the current song priority so that any new songs that are added to the song queue are added before all lower priority songs
(to allow you to target placement of where songs should be in the queue)
You also have a queued song count feature that gives you a total running time of all the
songs that you have in the queue. The random play feature can also be used to pick songs
or entire CDs at random, either from the whole jukebox or from just a particular genre.
When used on two computers connected to a DJ Mixer, you can still perform your crossfades
, but now you don
't have to shuffle through crates and crates of CDs in order to find music,
nor do you have to babysit the equipment if you just want to the music to play that is
in the song queue.
